The Vision
The Challenge
The owners of this St Ives property had a clear objective - increase the usability of the small yard area, for the entire family. We sought to create a space that harmoniously tied together the pool and other existing infrastructure, and met the functionality needs of the client.
Before any work could begin, the area's heavy slope had to be levelled to create a more unison surface and improve drainage. The narrow side access meant this needed to be completed manually, adding a layer of complexity.
With such a small space, it was important that the transition between kids' play space and the adult's fire pit retreat was seamless.
The Outcome
Relaxed Saturday vibes, every day of the week. With a heated pool that allows for swimming any time of the day or year, seated fire pit for cool or balmy nights, and enough open grass for games and fun.

This St Ives landscape transformation showcases an artful integration of existing features and modern upgrades. The project began with levelling the previous surface and laying fresh turf, providing a clean and inviting canvas for the new additions. An architectural firepit area was installed, offering a warm and welcoming gathering space for outdoor entertainment.
Thoughtfully incorporating the existing hardscape styling and pool area, the renovation maintained the backyard's original character while adding contemporary touches. Garden beds received a stylish upgrade with the addition of steel retaining edges, enhancing both form and function. The inspired design and seamless execution of this project breathe new life into the outdoor space, resulting in a revitalised ambience for relaxation and entertainment.
